Not rental ready...

Stayed 3 days in July, 2009
We hired this house over the 4th of July weekend and were overall disappointed in what we got.
Brief Description of House:
3 levels... upstairs had 1 small bedroom, 1 bathroom (w carpet) and a loft with a couch and a Murphy (drop out of the wall) bed... main level had 1 master bedroom with massive bathroom and jetted bathtub, 1 extra toilet, kitchen, lounge room, dining room, patio with outdoor furniture and a BBQ... downstairs had a large living room with a TV, DVD player and play station, Dish TV and surround sound, 1 bathroom (newly renovated) and 1 large bedroom - nice hardwood floors to down here.
Pros:
- Good size house
- Plenty of room
- Nice large kitchen
- Great downstairs living area
- Nice couches
- Rental staff helped out where they could
- Lots of wildlife in the area
- Not to far to walk down to the Tennis center and fisherman's beach... about 1 mile.
Cons:
- Not cleaned very well at all...
There was a dead spider squashed on the wall downstairs right about shoulder hight... not that the spider was a problem, but it just shows how thoroughly the place had been cleaned.
We also had to sweep piles of dust (litereally) from the floor in the downstairs bedroom.
There were a lot of dirty and sticky dishes in the cupboards.
The outdoor furniture was absolutely filthy - not even wiped down for the beginning of the weekend.
- Dangerously unstable back deck railing... if you stay here DO NOT lean on the back deck railing... it was dangerously unstable.
- The fridge took about 10 hours to cool down enough... would be nice to know it was on and working properly before we got there... I was told this happened to a previous renter as well... they should ensure it is working before letting you in... out butter melted completely but was solid again by morning.
- The downstairs TV (incl. Dish, DVD, Play station) did not work, even after the rental staff came out to try and
